Born in Bilbao. Disciple of Félix Lavilla, he specializes in Vienna and Munich and receives advice from Wolfram Rieger. Regular pianist for Carlos Álvarez, Ainhoa Arteta, María Bayo, Gabriel Bermúdez, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, Ruth Iniesta, Ismael Jordi, María José Montiel, Marina Monzó, Lisette Oropesa, Sabina Puértolas, etc … Collaborates with Celso Albelo, Yolanda Auyanet, José Bros, Measha Brueggergosman, Javier Camarena, Carlos Chausson, Mariella Devia, Cristina Gallardo-Domâs, Saioa Hernández, Ermonela Jaho, Isabel Rey and Leontina Vaduva among many others.

 

He performs in the Musikverein in Vienna, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Bregenz Festival, the Tchaikovski Hall in Moscow, Gran Liceo in Barcelona, Teatro Real in Madrid, Les Arts in Valencia, Maestranza in Sevilla, Carnegie Hall in New York, Teatro Colón in Bogotá, Teatro Solís in Montevideo, Usina del Arte in Buenos Aires, and in concert halls in Paris, Lyon, Roma, Munich, Bremen, Graz, Budapest, Damascus, Algiers, Dubai, Guadalajara, Mexico DF…

 

He accompanies in Courses and Master Classes of T. Berganza, R. Scotto, J. Aragall, I. Cotrubas, R. Vargas and F. von Stade. He has been official pianist of Operalia presided by Plácido Domingo and jury of the International Singing Competitions of Bilbao, Logroño and Bogotá. Defender of the Musical Heritage, he recovers the five salon operas of the Sevillian Manuel García and among his discography stand out Granados Songs Integral, Carlos Álvarez Live in La Monnaie, Canciones en la Alhambra, Ametsetan, Carneriana, La Seduzione, Ibs, integral of songs by Antón García Abril (Bolamar Music) and Ensueños (AIM Records). His latest release Los cisnes en Palacio features songs by Emilio Arrieta.

 

Honorary Patron of the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation, in 2010 he received the Ópera Actual award “for his dedication to opera and the growing prestige he is achieving in this field”.
