Ketevan Kemoklidze

Born in Tbilisi (Georgia), she studied at the V. Sarajishvili State Conservatoire (Prof. G. Kariauli) and later at the Academy of Teatro alla Scala. She has been awarded at prestigious international voice competitions including the P. Domingo’s Operalia, Toulouse, Francisco Viñas, Belvedere, Elena Obraztsova and the Georgian Musicians National and Youth Competitions.

Since her debut in 2002 as Maddalena in Rigoletto, she has appeared successfully at many of the world's major opera houses including Deutsche Oper Berlin, Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Opéra National in Montpellier, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Opéra Municipal de Marseille and Washington National Opera.

Her repertoire includes titles as Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, La clemenza di Tito, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La Cenerentola, Le comte Ory, Norma, Maria Stuarda, Anna Bolena, Linda di Chamounix, Don Carlo, La forza del destino, Carmen, Roméo et Juliette, Faust o Eugene Onegin, among others.

Kemoklidze made her outstanding film debut as Adriana Ferrarese (Donna Elvira) in famous Spanish film director Carlos Saura’s film Io Don Giovanni.

She sings regularly in most important concert halls the oratorio and concert repertory as Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi's Magnificat, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s IX Symphony, Mahler's Kindertotenlieder, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, and Prokofiev’s Ivan the Terrible and Alexander Nevsky.

Recent and future engagements include Carmen in Dresden, Trieste and Marseille, Anna Bolena in Lausanne, La Gioconda at the Liceo Barcelona, Don Carlo at the Teatro Real Madrid and Il barbiere di Siviglia in Tel Aviv, as well as recitals and concerts in Spain, Germany and Georgia.
